भारत खेती-किसानी करने वाला देश है, ये हम सभी किसी न किसी माध्यम से जानते ही हैं फिर चाहे वह किताबों में पढ़ा हो या नेताओं के भाषणों व नारों में सुना हो, लेकिन हम सबको पता है. खेती के साथ भारत का एक दूसरा पहलू भी है जो कि खेती-किसानी का एक अहम हिस्सा है. इसके बिना भारत क्या पूरी मानव सभ्यता में खेती की कल्पना नहीं की जा सकती है. आपको बता दें कि भारत का यह दूसरा पहलू पशुपालन है.

दरअसल, पशुपालन भारत का बहुत पुराना पेशा है यहां पर कई हजारों सालों से लोग पशुपालन कर रहे हैं लेकिन भारत ने आजादी की लड़ाई के दौरान अमूल जैसी एक संस्था को खड़ा करके देश में सफेद क्रांति की मसाल को जलाया और आजाद होने के बाद कई नए – नए कीर्तिमान स्थापित किए. वर्तमान समय में दूध उत्पादन के मामले में भारत पहले स्थान पर है और धीरे- धीरे कई प्रकार की सरकारी योजनाओं की सहायता से आगे ही बढ़ता जा रहा है.

भारत में दूध के उत्पादन को बढ़ाने के लिए कई प्रकार की योजनाएं चलाई जा रही हैं जो कुछ इस प्रकार हैं:

1.पशुधन बीमा योजना:

यह योजना देश में सभी पशुपालन करने वाले किसानों अन्य पशुपालकों के लिए चलाई जा रही है. इस योजना के तहत किसानों और पशुपालकों को उनके पशु की मौत होने पर बीमा होने पर पशुधन बीमा योजना के तहत एक मुश्त राशि उपलब्ध कराई जाती है.

2. चारा योजना:

पशु पालन, डेयरी तथा मत्स्यपालन विभाग द्वारा एक केन्द्र प्रायोजित चारा विकास योजना चलाई जा रही है, जिसका उद्देश्य चारा विकास हेतु राज्यों के प्रयासों में सहयोग देना है.

ता विकास योजना (DEDS) के तहत डेयरी लगाने के लिए 25 फीसदी तक की सब्सिडी दी जाती है और अगर आप अनुसूचित जाति/जनजाति की कैटेगरी में आते हैं तो आपको 33 फीसदी सब्सिडी मिल सकती है.

4.राष्ट्रीय डेयरी योजना:

इस योजना का उद्देश्य दुधारु पशुओं की उत्पादकता को बढ़ाना है और बाजार में डिमांड को पूरा करना है. इस योजना को 18 राज्यों में मुख्य रूप से चलाया जा रहा है.
